Minecraft Sign Shops
Sign shops allow players to buy and sell items using Miralis Coins (mR). These shops are easy to set up and automatically manage their own stock displays.
How to Create a Sign Shop
To create a shop, you need a Sign and a Chest (or any container like a Barrel or Shulker Box).
- Place a Chest: Put down the container that will hold your shop's stock.
- Place a Sign: Place a sign on the block directly in front of the chest.
- Format the Sign:
- Line 1:
[Amount] [Price](e.g.,64 100for 64 items at 100 mR). - Line 2: (Optional) Item name or description.
- Line 3: (Optional) Your shop name.
- Line 4: Leave blank! GameDirector will use this for stock management.
- Line 1:
Example Sign Format
64 100
Diamonds
Stubo's Shop
[Stock: 0]
Stock Management
GameDirector automatically tracks the items inside the container behind the sign. The 4th line of the sign will be updated periodically with the current stock level.
Stock Color Coding
The stock text changes color based on how many items are left:
- Red: Less than 10 items remaining.
- Yellow: Between 10 and 39 items remaining.
- Green: 40 or more items remaining.
Buying from a Shop
- Right-Click the Sign: This will show you a confirmation message in chat: "Are you sure you want to purchase [Amount]x[Item] for [Price] mR? Hit the sign again to confirm."
- Right-Click Again: Confirm the purchase. The items will be added to your inventory, and the mR will be deducted from your balance and given to the shop owner.
Selling to a Shop
Currently, sign shops are primarily designed for players to buy items from the owner. To sell items to other players, you can use the global Marketplace or set up a trade.
Troubleshooting
- "Sorry, it appears as though there's not an inventory here!": Ensure the chest is directly behind the sign relative to the direction the sign is facing.
- "Sorry, you need to be integrated to be able to use shops": You must link your Minecraft account to Discord using
!integrate [username]in the Ignition channel. - Stock not updating?: Stock refreshes periodically (every few minutes) or whenever someone interacts with the sign.
